KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE AND KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE
Let me focus on the young fighters called “REBELS” that fought and are still fighting to totally finish Gadhafi.
The rebels had a big dream, which was to remove Gadhafi from his throne. Ordinarily this sounded impossible. Does this sound like you? Do you have big dreams that seem too difficult or almost impossible for you to achieve? Ever wondered how these young unprofessional fighters eventually forced Gadhafi out of Tripoli. The answer is very simple; they used the principle of Leverage.
To achieve such great result you must carry out an analysis; (a) you must ask yourself; what is my desire my dream, my goal, my pursuit, my target? For the rebels it was “Removing Gadhafi”.
When that is clear the next thing (b) is to ask you self what do I have? What skill do I possess? What knowledge do I have? What am I doing already? What have I put to work? The rebels have their will and little supply of ammunitions to fight, above all they started fighting and this is key, if the rebels never started fighting they would not have gotten the Leverage they got. You must put your hands to work, use the little that you have to do the best you can. You can’t be lazy and need Leverage, you most likely will not get it.
Now when you put your hands to work trying to achieve that big dream, you will meet road blocks, cross roads, challenges, difficulties, hindrances, obstacles; it is logical because the dream is bigger than your logical capacity. For the rebels their challenges was that they did not have the knowledge and experience to conquer the professional soldiers of Gadhafi and the machineries that joined the soldiers from neighboring Niger, they also did not have enough weapon to fight with. So what do you do in a situation like this, do you run back? Do you stop pursuing, do you stop working towards that dream simply because of difficulties? The answer is no; you must do what the rebels did. (c) They reached out to someone, a system, a tool, who had the experience, knowledge that they did not have. (N.A.T.O). They called on the United Nations to give them a LEVERAGE. With the help of NATO, the rebels were able to remove Gadhafi. They simply bent their limited ability on N.A.T.O.’S super power; this means N.A.T.O. magnified the ability of the rebels.
Friends, when the going gets though, the tough don’t get going, the tough seeks collaboration. The question to you today is, at that crossroad are you just working hard hoping that you will break through somehow? Remember hope is not a factor of production, and you can’t keep working hard with zero or limited knowledge, you must work smart by identifying someone who have crossed that path before and ask questions that will provide such answers that will alleviate you from that hindrance, that will magnify your limited effort. Strategically ask for help, ask for a support, ask for an alliance, ask for collaboration or some sort of joint venture. This form of Leverage can give you access to knowledge, information, capacity, tools, equipment, that will eventually help you remove the Gadhafi of your situation.
I will appreciate your comments. Thank you.
